gender car trouble
dude: it feels like you're driving a really cool car but like it's too fast for you and you don't want to admit you don't know how to drive it, because everyone's looking at you to drive it
me: "a cool hot rod with a shitty engine?"
dude: eh no it has a pretty damn good engine
dude: like obviously I have a lot of power
dude: I have a fucking v8
dude: but basically, the issue is that guys want to believe they have it figured out and under control
dude: but they can't drive the car
dude: and sometimes admitting you can't drive the car is really really refreshing, and then you can hand the keys to someone else. there. that's the metaphor.
dude: it's like every will ferrell movie
dude: like guys get praise from an early age
dude: because they're guys
dude: so their race car gets built up more and more
dude: and then it gets all these sponsorships and stuff
dude: I think most guys just don't realize how much has been spent on them, how sweet a car they have.
dude: they really do think it's them because they've had to make coping mechanisms for dealing with the power
dude: anyway, the main thing is subtracting the car from you
dude: like realizing I could use the car to help other people
dude: or at least just not be a dick about it
dude: cause sometimes people with sweet cars are cool and you're glad they have it cause they're cool and honest about it
dude: definitely the purest way of physicalizing your power is distancing yourself from it
dude: obsessing over a collection is I think the same thing
dude: maybe not
dude: ok I gotta drive home in my sweet ride

I <3 the Ken Cosgrove’s of the world.
yes
SOME WORDS
It’s been 5 years since Death From Above 1979 played a show, 10 years since Jesse played me the first demos & 11 years since we sat in his parents basement and played so loud we knocked the china off the shelves upstairs. 11 seems to be a YES number for me. Though I am usually a pretty rational guy, if I have something on my mind and I see an 11 somewhere, I know I’m on the right...
